Authority Act No. 41 of 1978 of the National Assembly and its amendments were published by the Urban Development Authority by Gazette Notice No. 2235\/54 dated 18 July 2021. The Planning and Building Regulations formed the basis for this guidance. The prime objective is to interpret the planning and building regulations included in the relevant gazette notification to make them simple and easy to use while maintaining their basic essence unchanged, as well as to create understanding and convenience for those who use them. Besides that, it is expected that with these guidelines, developers and other stakeholders will be better educated about these regulations, gain a better understanding of them, be encouraged to follow these regulations correctly, discourage development activities without approval, and thus improve the standard and quality of property development activities in the country. These guidelines should always be used in conjunction with the Act and the Gazette Notification and their amendments referenced above.<\/p><p>In the event that this Gazette Notification is amended in
